francisbemisFrancis E. Bemis, Esq. lives in Presque Isle with his wife, Ellen, and three young children. Frank graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1986, the University of Maine with distinction, in 1990, and earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1993 at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C.

Frank worked as an associate attorney at a local firm in Presque Isle, Maine from 1993 through 2005, where he had an expansive general litigation practice in the Maine District, Superior and Supreme Courts, as well as the United States District Court and United States Bankruptcy Court in Bangor, Maine. Frank's areas of practice include general civil litigation, family law, real estate, landlord/tenant, criminal defense, personal injury, social security appeals, business planning and formation, commercial litigation, probate law, municipal law, and wills, trusts, and estates.

Frank Bemis is heavily involved in community and public service in Presque Isle. He was twice elected to the Presque Isle City Council, and was a former member of the Presque Isle Planning Board. He is a past chair of the Presque Isle City Council, Presque Isle Planning Board, Presque Isle Industrial Council and past President of the Loring Development Authority. He co-chaired fundraising drives for the Presque Isle Scholarship Fund, the Presque Isle Rotary Mantle Lake Improvement Project and St. Apollonia Dental Clinic. Presently, Frank is a Justice of the Peace, Public Administrator of Aroostook County, Vice-President of the Presque Isle Rotary Club, a Director of the Maine Bar Foundation, a Director of the Presque Isle Industrial Council, a reader and celebrant for the St. Mary's Catholic Church, and he provides volunteer legal services for multiple charitable organizations.
