Luke M. Rossignol, Esq. is an Aroostook County native, and was born and raised in Van Buren, Maine. Luke graduated from the University of Maine at Orono, with highest distinction, in 1994, and earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law in 1999.
Luke worked as an associate attorney at the Bangor, Maine law firm of Rudman & Winchell, LLC from 1999 until 2002, where he litigated matters before the Maine District, Superior, and Supreme Courts, as well as the United States District Court in Bangor, Maine, and First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston, Massachusetts. At Rudman & Winchell, Luke's primary areas of practice involved environmental, zoning, real estate development, and municipal law, and general civil litigation including insurance defense of personal injury claims.
In 2002, Luke moved to Hardings Law Offices in Presque Isle, Maine, where he expanded his practice to include work on personal injury, Workers' Compensation, criminal defense, divorce and family law, bankruptcy, probate, and unemployment matters. Luke represented several municipalities and he continues to represent businesses and individuals in development and environmental matters before local zoning boards, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Maine Board of Environmental Protection, and other State administrative agencies.
Since establishing Bemis & Rossignol, LLC with Frank Bemis in 2006, Luke has continued his work on personal injury, criminal defense, divorce and family law, real estate, probate, and unemployment matters, with a primary focus on representing injured plaintiffs in personal injury matters. Luke represents clients in the Maine District, Superior and Supreme Courts, before the Maine Workers' Compensation Board, and in Social Security Administration matters. Luke is licensed to practice before the United States District Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Luke also provides specialized representation to businesses and individuals on environmental, zoning, real estate development, and municipal law matters, and he continues to represent businesses and individuals in development and environmental matters before local zoning boards, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, the Maine Board of Environmental Protection, and other State administrative agencies.
Luke is serving in his first term as a Senatorial appointee to the Maine Right-to-Know-Law Advisory Committee, which advises the Maine Legislature on matters related to Maine's Freedom of Information Laws and access to public records. Luke currently serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Aroostook as Vice President of the Board and as Chairman of the 2014-2015 Fundraising Campaign. Luke is the Chairman of Board of Trustees for the Mark & Emily Turner Foundation. Luke is a second term member of the Presque Isle Downtown Revitalization Committee. And, Luke is a member the Presque Isle, Maine chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
